Inspired by the famous and highly popular Rosés of Provence, France, while retaining an unmistakable vibrancy that is Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand.
Church Road Gwen Rosé has been crafted and produced as a tribute to Florence Gwendolen (Gwen) Brown, the wife of our pioneering winemaker, Tom McDonald. It celebrates the love between Tom and Gwen, the supportive woman behind the man/hero of Church Road, who was alongside Tom as he established the Church Road winery to make the brand what it is today.
Alcohol Level : 12%
Tasting Notes : A dry, elegant and refreshing style of Rosé. A finely textured wine with subtle light berry, guava and floral notes complemented with savoury undertones. Ideal as a refreshing aperitif, well suited to a range of lighter, fresher dishes, particularly where an element of umami features. Try with sashimi or freshly shucked oysters. Enjoy this wine now rather than cellaring as it is unlikely to benefit from further aging.
